Since 2010, Animation Avantgarde has been pursuing the idea of placing experimental works and animated films in dialog with each other, thereby focusing on works that avoid the beaten path. We seek formal and narrative innovation and aspire to achieve the greatest possible diversity in terms of content and technology.

Films with a completion date of January 1, 2025 or later can be submitted.

Please read the submission terms (English / Deutsch) carefully before filling in the form!

You will be asked to attach a scan of a photo ID (passport, drivers license etc.), that proves that the director is an Iranian resident. The submission will be reviewed and you will receive a status update as soon as it has been processed.

First things first, we'll need a screener – that's the copy of your film we'll use during the selection process. The easiest way is to send a link and keep it online until the end of April (password-protected or not, totally up to you!).
